The Wild Cow is an excellent vegetarian choice in Nashville. Although the area is traditionally thought of as a meat eater's paradise, a number of vegetarian and vegan dining choices have begun to sprout up over the years, particularly in the East Nashville area.

I was so happy to find out about this vegetarian restaurant. Being a vegetarian, I never have a lot of options when dining out. Plus, I hate getting those glares from waiters when you ask for a substitution.

The Wild Cow Vegetarian Restaurant is a great choice for vegetarians and vegans looking for a high quality meal without the hassle of over analyzing the menu to determine what is a good fit for the vegetarian diet.

Food

I loved the variety of vegetarian options available at Wild Cow. There were so many options available that I could never find at a chain restaurant. It was so nice to be able to have my choice of ordering almost anything on the menu! I usually can only order or sides or I have to ask to make substitutions, so this was a nice change!

A variety of sandwiches, wraps, tacos, entrees, and even a few desserts are available.

Particularly impressive is the appetizer menu which includes goodies like vegan queso, spinach artichoke dip, hummus and pita, and nachos. The dessert menu also looks delicious with selection like Devil's Food Cake, Carrot Cake, and Coffeecake to tempt just about anyone, sweet tooth or not!

I really enjoyed the quinoa tacos! With any meal, you get to choose a side, so I went with the mashed sweet potatoes. Mike ordered the taco salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought it looked really, really good. If I ever have a chance to come back, I will definitely have to try it out!

Other tempting menu options include: Portobello tacos, Chipotle and Black Bean Burrito, and Lentil Stew.

Service

Service was pretty good - the waitress was friendly and answered any questions we had concerning ingredients and allergens.

One area that needs improvement is the waiting area. We had to wait about 15 minutes to get a seat. However, there were only a few seats available, and they were all taken. Hopefully, they will make the waiting area a bit large to accommodate the large crowds.

Atmosphere

If I had to pick one negative regarding this restaurant then it would have to be the seating area. This restaurant is very small. The tables are very close together. I would have preferred a more private atmosphere.

Final Remarks

The Wild Cow Vegetarian Restaurant is a vegetarian and vegan paradise. There are so many menu options and no need to feel embarrassed when asking for a million substitutions. I would go back in a heartbeat!
