Live Oak's breakfast menu features traditional favorites like omelettes, waffles, and Eggs Benedict. You'll even find a few allergy friendly choices like Gluten Free Hotcakes and a Vegan Specialty (steel cut oatmeal, a fruit salad, and a Kiwi Acai Berry Smoothie).

Lunch includes: entree sized salads, sandwiches (chicken salad, BLT, and Reuben to name a few), pizza, and a few light southern inspired entrees (Shrimp and Grits, Chicken Gumbo).

Allergy friendly entree selections include gluten free pizza and a vegan Black-Eyed Pea, Rice & Kale Falafel. Smoothies and hot drinks are available.

The dinner menu features a selection of seafood based starters (mussels, crab cakes, oysters), salads and soups, brick fired pizzas, a selection of southern style entrees (seafood pasta, South Carolina daily catch, and Shrimp and Grits). Certified Angus Steaks are served with your choice of 2 sides. A full wine menu is available (the restaurant has received an Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator).

The highlight of the menu is a gluten-free Vegan Tasting Menu. This wonderful 3 course meal is a delight for everyone, not just those following a specific diet. It's a great introduction for those starting either diet as well, as it proves that vegan and gluten-free food can be healthy and taste good at the same time.

You will start with a delicous bowl of Sugar Pie Pumpkin Bisque topped with crispy parsnips. The soup is perfectly spiced and perfect for the fall season. The entree is a falafel made with rice, kale, and black eyed peas. The resulting flavor resulting from the combination of these 3 ingredients, along with the spaghetti squash and pomegranate ragu, is surprisingly incredible. Dessert includes a small sampling of mango sorbet and a tasty side of mango fruit.

The veggie gluten-free pizza was a wonderfully filling idea for an appetizer, and an excellent alternative for vegetarians who can not order any of the tradional seafood based appetizers.

Every course was absolutely delicious and unique. A wonderful creation that I recommend to anyone looking for a fresh, healthy gluten and vegan friendly dish.
