211 Restaurant
211 Restaurant is located inside the Hilton Downtown Hotel on North Tampa Street. Although the majority of people who visit this restaurant are likely to be guests of the Hilton hotel, I strongly recommend checking it out if you have food allergies, as they are very accommodating. It's a great place to fill up on a decent breakfast before any of your activities in the downtown area.
Tampa area restaurants, in general, are not very accommodating when it comes to gluten-free and other specific food requests. On the other hand, 211 Restaurant is more than willing to satisfy all guests. Any restaurant that is willing to cater to those with food allergies always gets a big plus in my book, as unfortunately this is not the norm.
Food
211 offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner 7 days a week. The breakfast menu is terrific, with plenty of filling choices. You can order the full or continental breakfast buffet, or choose a la carte from the full menu.
I recommend the Create your Own Omelet selection. Your 3 ingredient omelet is served with hash browns or fruit and toast. The onion, tomato, and bell pepper combination was wonderful, perfectly cooked and nicely presented. Food came out fresh in no time at all.
Our waitress was very accommodating with our specific dietary requests and even offered us a bowl of fruit and sliced tomatoes (at no additional charge) in place of the toast.
If you are craving something heftier, Cinnamon French Toast, Buttermilk Pancakes, and Lobster and Crab Eggs Benedict are just a few of the choices you will find. Or, you can try out a Florida specialty such as a Downtown Cuban Sandwich.
Espresso, latte, and cappuccino drinks are available in addition to regular coffee. Juices, tea, and milk are also available.
Service
Service was fantastic. Our waitress was friendly, accommodating, and very efficient.
Atmosphere
211 Restaurant offers a clean, modern dining room, very fitting for the downtown area. The hotel is in a convenient location nearby many other downtown attractions, thus making it the perfect weekend breakfast destination before heading out to other area activities.
Final Remarks
I would recommend 211 Restaurant to both guests of the Hilton Tampa Downtown Hotel and anyone else seeking a great breakfast served in a classy atmosphere with terrific servers. Great food, great service, and an overall attractive vibe would bring me back for another visit.
