Somethin's Brewin' Book Cafe is a cozy coffee shop that is housed in a historic early 1900's library building. This is hands down the best coffee shop I have found in the area. The intimate setting, friendly staff, cozy seating, and great menu kept me returning to this shop everyday on my stay in Middleboro!

Food

Somethin's Brewin' offers both breakfast and lunch options. The menu includes a variety of pastries, sandwiches, salads, and my favorite, Quiche! I love Quiche and have a hard time finding it in restaurants -the broccoli, tomato, and cheddar quiche served here was fantastic!

As for the coffee, I was delighted to find out that they use a local organic brewer in Plymouth called Speedwell. Organic coffee contains less pesticides and more antioxidants than non-organic coffee. I always drink only organic at home, so I was pleased not to have to sacrafice this when having my coffee out.

Somethin's Brewin' offers a variety of specialty lattes. I would love to try the Pumpkin Spice during the fall months. This time, I ordered Dark Roast - served in a 20oz mug for under $3. My boyfriend loved their "Cafe Mocha" and he is really picky about his coffee!

Service

The baristas were quick and friendly.

Atmosphere

The setting here is the real highlight: comfy couches, pleasant decor, books to browse through, etc. I enjoy going to a nice coffee shop every once in a while, but only if there is a nice atmosphere or else I am better off making my own at home!

Final Remarks

Somethin's Brewin' turned out to be exactly the type of coffee shop I was looking for - the complete opposite of a typical chain. You do not feel rushed, the atmosphere is relaxing over business like, and the coffee is a great value.
