Atlantic Beach Club
Atlantic Beach Club is a fun, upbeat restaurant located along the coast in Middletown, Rhode Island, just a short drive away from the historic Newport Mansions.
We stopped by this restaurant for the popular Sunday Brunch Buffet. Be aware that parking is very tough to find if you do not arrive early! Despite the hassle of waiting for a spot, we were satisfied with the variety of options on the buffet line, and of course, the wonderful views!
Food
The breakfast buffet included a nice sized variety of offerings including a make your own omelet station. There were several toppings available including cheese, onion, peppers, mushrooms and tomatoes. The buffet line was clean, elegant, and refilled as soon as a pan was empty/needed to be refreshed.
Other options included scrambled eggs, meats, french toast sticks, muffins, roasted potatoes, and more. Lunch items included Caesar salad, rolls, soups, fish, steamed vegetables, and more.
There was a small dessert table complete with tasty sweet treats such as chocolate covered strawberries, cookies, apple crisps, chocolate brownies, and a few other bite sized treats. I enjoyed the roasted potatoes, salad, and chocolate strawberries the most!
There was a nice selection of options for both meat eaters and vegetarians. For only $15 per person, this buffet was a pretty good deal. Coffee and tea are included in the price. My only complaint would be that they only carried regular tea. A selection of different specialty teas including green tea would have been desirable.
Brunch is served on Sundays from 10:30am-2:00pm.

Service
When we were first seated outside, we had to wait almost 15 minutes for a waiter to come by our table. I am guessing this had to do with the huge amount of crowds seated outside on the patio on this busy Sunday afternoon. However, after our waitress finally came over, the service went pretty well.
Atmosphere
The indoor dining room did not have any seats available facing the water, so we chose to sit outside. This turned out to be the wise choice as the views outside were fantastic! We had decent views of First Beach (located right next to Newport's CliffWalk).
We enjoyed the lively atmosphere. The music, beach-goers, and outdoor bar added to the summery feeling. The bar area and beach were both completely packed on this beautiful 80 degree day.
Final Remarks
I would definitely come back for the breakfast buffet at Atlantic Beach Club. I loved the outdoor seating with the great ocean views. Next time, I might even come with my gear and head out to the beach afterwards!
