Wild Rose is a quaint tea house in Old Town Cottonwood. The historic building, which was founded in 1929, was once the Old Town Jail. The staff will show you the old cells by request. Al Capone's name can be found carved on the outside wall. He was hiding out in Arizona after the Chicago St. Valentine's Day massacre.

Wild Rose is one of the only authentic tea shops in Northern Arizona. A huge variety of loose leafs, a pretty outdoor patio, and friendly staff make Wild Rose worthy of a visit on your trip to downtown Cottonwood.

Food

Wild Rose offers an extensive variety of loose leaf tea, dozens and dozens of traditional flavors, as well as creative blends. I strongly recommend trying a true Southwestern specialty like the Prickly Pear tea, available in green, black, or a green roobios base. It is absolutely delicious!

Other must try teas include the Pumpkin Spice Black Tea, Raspberry Vanilla Mint Green Tea, and the Witch Blend Herbal Tisane. Many of the teas are organic and marked as so on the menu board. Also plenty of herbal versions are available if you are trying to avoid caffeine. If you prefer cold tea, simply ask for it iced. Non tea drinkers can order Italian cream soda or lemonade.

If you like the tea, you can purchase a bag to bring home with you or order from their online store.

Also be sure to try a homemade cupcake, baked fresh daily in a variety of creative flavors. The White Chocolate Chip, if available, is extraordinary. One of the best cupcakes I've tasted!

In addition to great tasting cupcakes and delicious tea, the presentation, ambiance, and service is great. This in turn creates a wonderful traditional tea experience.

Service

The lady whom owns the shop is very friendly and knowledgeable about tea. She is willing to help you choose a tea to suit your personal preferences.

Atmosphere

Wild Rose offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor garden patio is a lovely place during the nicer seasons. Inside they have a small, yet quaint & beautifully decorated tea room. Wild Rose offers an old-fashioned ambiance that you do not find much anymore in this part of the country.

Final Remarks

Wild Rose is a great place to stop for a refreshing drink, especially if you find yourself strolling around downtown Cottonwood for the day. A nice pot of tea, accompanied by a fresh homemade cupcake in the garden patio, is a beautiful way to spend a nice spring or summer day in Cottonwood.
